The student cafeteria at lunch time

The student cafeteria of the University of Ryuktus is located next to the library. Because it has just renovated the walls, white chairs, and wooden tables are all clean and look fashionable. When you enter the entrance, you will see a separated area where all the foods are and students make a line to get meals. While you wait in the line, you can check the menu by looking at the pictures of foods which are placed in a big glass case. Calories and how much nutrition each foods have are also written on the pictures.
I guess there are about 50 tables and about half of them are covered with tablecloths. The tables with tablecloths are only for students who eat their lunch. Other than that students need to sit a table with no tablecloths for studying and chatting so on. The cafeteria always gets crowded during lunch time and hard to find a seat. I used to avoid going to the cafeteria because of the crows, but the delicious meals for cheap prices are very attractive to many students and I guess the cafeteria is the most famous place in this university.

The Student Cafeteria at Lunchtime

My university has a modern student cafeteria which can accommodate approximately 400 people. It has a large floor like a gymnasium in school and a lot of seats. Because of it, many students have lunch in there in lunchtime. Today, I will describe how be crowded in there in lunchtime. Around noon, a lot of students come in cafeteria and make long line to take a lunch. This line comes from entrance of cafeteria to exit located opposite to entrance. From entrance to exit, there are long distance about 200 people can stand between them. Of course, there are very noisy in lunchtime. You may hear laughter, some jokes, some whisper. And you can smell of foods comes from kitchen. When you smell it, you can guess what it is. Because of huge number of students, hundreds of dishes had prepared there. So its smell is strong to be able to analyze what it is. Our university’s cafeteria become so crowded in lunchtime.

My Workplace

I do a part time job at juku school and teach studies for junior high school students and elementary school students. It is located in Misato, and the juku has about 20 students now. It is small classroom, and there are many desks and chairs. Every student is honest, so I enjoy teaching study to them. It is so busy when a school exam is getting close. But when I was said “I could get a good score than last exam!” by the students after the exam, I could feel satisfying to my job. I am often a cheerful teacher, but when the students are noisy, I become a strict teacher. My colleagues are also good persons, so I could enjoy working with my colleagues. The teacher of juku school is sometimes tough, but I like my job.

The Student Cafeteria at Lunchtime

The student cafeteria of our university is always crowded at lunchtime. Many students and teachers come in cafeteria at lunchtime. The cafeteria is downstairs of Seikyo’s building, and it has a new automatic door. At lunchtime, when you enter the door, first you would be surprised of crowd of many people. There is a long line of students waiting to get the meal. It is very noisy and hot. I don’t like waiting in it. Then, students take a tray to carry their meal, and choice foods in the counter. After they could get the meal, next they should take some time to find their table to eat. Therefore, I don’t recommend going to the cafeteria at lunchtime. You should better to buy a box lunch at the store in upstairs if you feel so hungry.

The Student Cafeteria at Lunchtime

At Lunchtime, the central cafeteria is crowded, noisy and squalid with a lot of students. First, as I come into the cafeteria, there is always a long line, which leads to the entrance on the other side. It is difficult for me to get to my seat because the line is winding and sometimes obstructs my path to the seat. If worst comes to worst, I cannot find a seat I can sit. Second, it takes much time to take dishes. One reason is, as you know, the long line. The other reason is some students are irresolute and stop there to decide what they eat. They are at a loss what dishes they choose without paying attention the students waiting behind them. I wish they were smarter. Third, as I go forward, women ask me what I want and serve the dishes very quickly. Their tones are strong and their quick movements hurry me. They always make a desperate effort to break the long line. After I pay for my lunch and take a tea, I can finally have lunch. Our cafeteria at lunch time is a battle-like with a large number of students.

My work place

I have the part time job in “Max value”, the super market, in Shintosin. It has large selling space sorted by vegetables, fishes, meats, frozen foods, cold storages, and food products. I always work in the place of food products to fill up them, and I sometimes go back warehouse to bring products. Warehouse is connected by a narrow passage, and customers can’t come in from there. In there, many dollies lined up, and lots of stocks are piled them. It usually be tidy, but on Monday, it is filled by many dollies that arrived from delivery center. Since we can’t move if we fill up dollies too much, we divide up products using other spaces. Drinks or beers are move to the room of meats, and Cup noodles, seasonings, and snacks are move to the room of fishes. We remain diapers, toilet papers, shampoos in warehouse, or bring them to selling space. It’s very hard work for me to carry these many and heavy products, but we have to work out over without finishing our works!

My Workplace

I work at a cake shop as a part-time-job. The cake shop is in San-A shopping center, for that reason there are many customers and they often stop in at our cake shop. Especially we are very busy on the evening because a lot of housewives come to our cake shop after shopping ingredients for their dinner. On that time, I get into a panic from busy. But my job is that I put cakes into a box or wrapping the box, therefore I cannot skimp my work. If I skimp my work, cakes may be crushed and it will increase my job.
My part-time-job is very fun for me because clerks who work at same cake shop are exceedingly kind and I can attend to various customers. But there is a bud point. It is that there is very dusty, the cause is our cake shop locate under big air-conditioning equipment. For that reason, I often catch a cold than ever. Recently the cold weather has set in, so I worry about catching a cold. I want to enjoy working in there without catching a cold. I will gargle my throat many times in this winter.

A Crowded Bus on a Hot Day

I think it seems happen in early summer because the air conditioner should work if in the middle of the summer. There are many people in the narrow bus, therefore, it’s stuffy, and you’re choked with the heat and the carbon dioxide which is come from the breath of people. In addition, because it’s muggy especially in Okinawa, all people must sweat, and then it may smell like onion. If you’re lucky, you can take a seat, but if you’re unlucky, you should stand and hold a strap. Because the body of the bus must shake, it’s hard to stand even if you hold a strap, and you may use your leg’s muscle to stand firm more than expected. However, even if you can take a seat, you should feel uneasy on seat because you must share a seat with another person. Besides, you can’t move at all if you have more than two bags. The curtains are closed to shut out the bright sun, and because of the swelter, the windows are opened to feel the soft breeze. However, because of the situation, the waved curtain will take in your face disgustingly if you take a window seat. At any rate, it’s terrible for anyone to be in a crowded bus on a hot day.

Besides, almost all customers are foreigners, because it is near camp foster, and my boss is American. In fact, many Americans and militaries came to the bar. When my boss’ friends come to see him, the bar fills with only Americans or militaries. Then, we have free billiards, and you can play it freely. However, if you want to play dart, it cost you 100 yen at once. We open the bar every day from seven o’clock to one o’clock, so you can visit every day.

My Work Place

I work at Star Bucks Coffee in Chatan since two years ago. Today, I want everyone to know my love Star Bucks Coffee. Star Bucks Coffee has a lot of good points in the shop, staff and pay. Star Bucks Coffee offer customers a wonderful time and good atmosphere every day, this is “third place”. “Third place” means that you can spend the special time without think about your family and your work. Therefore we welcome customers with rich furniture, fashionable music and all smiles. I think this is good and special points beside other coffee shops. Also, Star Bucks Coffee makes me happy, because Star Bucks Coffee includes highly pay, good staffs and many events like X’mas event and tasting party with customers. However I think the price of drinks and foods are little expensive for us, so it’s a bad points. If customers can buy some goods at a reasonable price, Star Bucks Coffee will be more popular for everyone. Star Bucks Coffee is the pride and fun of me. Thank you.

A Crowded Bus on a Hot Day

A crowded bus on a hot day is a complete nightmare: sweltering, sweaty, dizzy, and even vomiting. The stream of air is altogether stopped, and the sun is shining disgustfully. You cannot count on the air conditioner solving the problem, because it doesn’t play its role in such a situation. Beads of sweat run down through your body, and your T-shirt soon will look like you’ve tumbled down in a pool. It smells so sweaty in the bus, because all of the passengers are sweating as much as you are. Everybody in the bus does not seem quite happy. Even some blessed people who could get their seat are suffering from the heat and the smell, poor standing passengers, in addition, pant from both physical and psychological pressure. A crowded bus on a hot day is often covered with uncanny silence because nobody wants to enjoy talking with anyone. All you hear in this sauna-like conveyance will be somebody breathing with difficulty or complaining of the level of the discomfort index, which makes you more and more irritated. A crowded bus will make you want to purchase your own car, and even make an action against global warming.

The town square in a town in the evening

One of my most favorite places in Okinawa is ‘Chatan-American-Village’, and I would like to describe the town square in the evening. I went there last weekend evening for shopping with my friends. There are decorated beautifully with lots of illuminations along the street, around the shops, and the bridge, besides; there is a Christmas-tree with illumination. Especially, for me, the decoration of the bridge is the most beautiful. It looks like the Milky Way, and I was very happy because I could see it. The decoration of American-Village is more beautiful than the last year, I thought. And, there are so many people on the street not only Japanese but also foreign people. Because of this, the surrounding of the street is full of vitality. I didn’t buy any stuff, but I could enjoy there. I recommend you to go there, at least, once. The illuminations of there and vitality will make you cheerful.

The Student Cafeteria at Lunchtime

The cafeteria in the University of Ryukyus is very big, and there are a lot of spaces to sit. However, at the lunchtime, cafeteria is noisy and crowded with many students. The cafeteria’s tables and teacups are dirty, but many students go to the cafeteria at lunchtime. I do not like to go there. Although the cafeteria is very dirty, the lunch is delicious and cheap. There are many kinds of dishes, so you can choose what you like to eat. For these reasons, many students want to eat a lunch at the cafeteria. Compared with lunchtime, in the evening, cafeteria is become less crowded and you can concentrate on study. It is comfortable to study and chat with my friends in the evening. If you want to eat lunch at the cafeteria in a relaxed, you had better stagger your lunch hours.

My Grandmother’s kitchen

Everybody may think that kitchen should be clean; however, my grandmother’s kitchen is totally different from general image. First, the kitchen reeks of mixing of oil, raw garbage, and mold. Because of laziness, my grandmother does not ventilate the room, so that the kitchen is always filled with strange smell. Second, there are some pieces of food scattered around all over the kitchen. It enables us to find and step on many treasures, for example, a grain of rice, a piece of lettuce, and a fried prawn partly eaten. Third, there are a lot of small, annoying flies in the kitchen. The kitchen provides good condition for them to live because it is warm, messy, and damp. Finally, every electric appliance in the kitchen is very old. The oldest one is an oven, and it has been used for over twenty years. Because of oldness, dirt of foods and mold stick to surfaces of the machines. The kitchen seems not to be suitable place to cooking; however, it is also uncannily attractive place to me.

A holiday parade

A holiday parade is the historical, energetic event. Ancient People wished the large catch, peace to their god, or memorialized the triumph through the parade. And this still remains present day. My city, Itoman has a big holiday parade called Jugoya in autumn. Jugoya is the event that people wish the fertility to the god. This is the powerful, energetic event. In this event, people parade about one kilometer from Itoman elementary school to Hakugin temple. Through the parade, people announce their local dance and fly a big flag called Hatagashira. Especially, Hatagashira is very spectacle. The men flying big flag are strong, powerful, and energetic. But parade sometimes seems like noisy and dirty. The sound of firecrackers and loud voices are so noisy, and there are a lot of trashes after the parade. However, people get together and clean up the rode they paraded at the last, and this is so nice. I recommend you to seeing the parade till the last.

My Grandmother’s Kitchen

My grandmother’s kitchen is always neat. There is a refrigerator on the left corner .It has no stain and always bright white. The shiny silver sink is next to the refrigerator. There won’t be any dishes or garbage in the sink longer than 10 minutes. Next to the sink on the right corner, there is a gas stove. It is very old stove which got much rust. Even though it looks dirty, still there are no scraps of foods or sticky oils. The shelf is on the right wall and its glass is always clear. You can see the inside from this wide glass and the dishes are properly arranged according to the size in it. On the counter which divides the kitchen and a living room, there are fruits and snacks in a basket and nothing other than that. Her kitchen shows you how tidy person she is.

A Crowded Bus on a Hot Day

Riding a crowded bus on a hot day is so hard. When I entered the university, I didn’t have a driver’s license, so I had to ride the bus to go University. In the morning, the bus was so crowded with many people to go their schools and workplaces and elsewhere. In the crowded bus, some people should stand because the seats are not enough to sit everyone in the bus. On a hot day, it is most hard to stay in the bus with crowded people, because we feel very hot, and sometimes the people who stand nearby me smell of sweat. Of course there is an air conditioner in the bus, but it’s ineffective on a hot day in the crowded bus. Therefore an air conditioner is working, we don’t open the window. We know opening the windows is not a good way to be cool. In either case, we should stand the heat. If you have the seat, you are better and cooler than the people who stand on an aisle, because cool air comes from above your head, and you have the enough space to be comfortable. The people who stand on an aisle have narrow space and they can’t feel the cool air. For that reason, riding a crowded bus on a hot day is so hard and I don’t like the crowded bus.

My Workplace

Restaurant is the place that we can feel comfortable beyond reality. Now, I am working at an Italian restaurant. At first, when I started to work here, I was surprised at many ideas for making comfortable space. Our restaurant’s motto is healthy and relaxing. The interior of the restaurant; all tables, chairs, shelves, and floor are made of woods because wood makes us relaxing. Almost all guests are couples. They come to enjoy having dinner and date. So we have to be careful not to ruin their calm atmosphere. For that purpose we dim the warm red lights to make a romantic mood. We are also being cautious about choosing music and its volume. The bossa nova is the best music so far. When the guest come and sit, we bring to them the black board that the menu on it. Guests are satisfied with such a service that they cannot served when they are at their house. My biggest works is that creating good atmosphere with any stuff to making guests comfortable.

My Grandmother’s Kitchen

My grandmother has a huge white nice kitchen. There is a very old big stove which was made by stone and she usually bakes a bread, pizza and cake by using it.
There is also very nice coffee maker in her kitchen. My grandparents enjoy drinking coffee with her home-made bread every morning. That is why it is very appetizing aroma of coffee and bread in there whenever I enter her kitchen. There is a tall wooded-shelf on the left corner of the kitchen. She put many kinds of spices of bottles with rebel there. She put a sticker of the spice’s name on each bottle no to use wrong spice since some of them have a same color and smell, very confusing. I love the huge white table in the middle of the kitchen with five wooded nice chairs. Because there usually are my favorites on the table such as grandmother’s homemade pumpkin pie, chocolate cake, fruit cookies and candies.

The subway at rush hour

The subway is one of the useful public transportations in the world, and billions of people depend on utilizing it every day. For instance, the Tokyo subway system transports more than 6 million passengers per day and it is equal to transporting 3 billion passengers per year. The reason why people use this transportation is that subway has a timetable and it comes every two or three minutes, although automobile is caught in a traffic jam readily. On the contrary of the fact, the subway has some disadvantages and one of them is the subway at rush hour. The subway at rush hour indicates both 7-9a.m. and 18-20p.m. when people go to school/office or go back home, and it is extremely crowded with students and office workers that it is impossible to move. In addition to that, terrorism can be occurred at the rush hour, thus the subway is a menace sometimes. In 1995, several members of AUM Shinrikyo released sarin gas on the Tokyo Subway and it occurred Sunday morning in the rush hour. This incident is now called “The Sarin gas attack on the Tokyo subway” and most people in Japan still feel cautious of it. For these reasons, the subway at rush hour is dangerous and people feel irritable although the subway is one of essential transportations. In my opinion, you should avoid taking the subway at rush hour in order to protect your life.

My Workplace

I work in a transnational company called Muy Bien Hijo de Papa, or MBHP. This company has a beautiful and modern building near to my house in the city of Yonabaru. Its main business is information technology, or IT. Since it is near to my house, I go there walking, and when I need a ride to meet one of the clients I can use the company’s car. Of course, the gasoline, the highway and all the fares are paid by MBHP. I like my workplace because it has everything an employee would like to have in the building he or she works. The atmosphere is perfect, it is very clean, it has delicious food in its cafeteria, and after work we can use a gym that is located in the fifth floor. Also the salary is more than good, and we get incentives of twice our monthly salary two times a year. In addition the chances to get a promotion are always around. If you want to keep on growing while working here, all you have to do is to be ready to give good ideas and work hard. I love working here, and I hope I can become the president of this company in the future.

I love my grandmother’s messy, but clean and useful kitchen. There’re a cupboard with full of dishes, pans, and other tableware. That looks like unclosed trunk with full of staffs. She took off all of door, so she can look over what she wants to use. There’re also a shelf with full of convenience foods. When she cooks, she only cooks for herself, because she lives alone. If somebody suddenly visits her, she doesn’t get ready for entertaining guest. She hates that, so she always has extras in many things. Her kitchen has everything, but only my grandmother knows where they are. Nobody can use things easily, because there are too much things. She is like a witch in her kitchen, she can make take out things in seconds. I’m dreaming of having my kitchen like that in my future.
