Developing a Writing Outline

Hi Class,

Today I want to work on developing an outline. This is related to clustering that we did last week. We will also be using this outline for developing specific writing assignment #4.

So today I want you to first pick another NEW topic on p. 93 of our textbooks and begin prewriting with clustering. This should take you about 10 or 15 minutes. Then use those clusters to make an outline and organize your thoughts (see example on page 93). This will be your first draft for specific writing assignment number four.

I want you to post your outlines on our web blog and work on the specific writing in MSWord to be sent to me sometime before December 30, 2008. It should be 1 paragraph with about 12-15 sentences. Remember to use as much description as possible.

My Refrigerator

Hi class,

In this section we are going to be working with space order paragraphs. They are like the time order paragraphs we worked on earlier in this class. However, with space order you need to use your imagination more. Try to visualize ever little detail when you are doing pre-writing. Then add important details to your paragraph so that the reader can visualize your refrigerator. Please limit your paragraph to ten or fewer sentences.
